View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Tuesday the 6th, rain or snow will fall in various parts of the metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and across the country.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on this day, due to the influence of a low-pressure trough, the cloud band over the West Sea is moving eastward, and as of 7 a.m., rain or snow is falling in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, northern Chungnam, and Chungbuk, with snow accumulating in some areas.
Snow accumulation amounts are 1.7cm in Dangjin, 1.6cm in Seosan, 1.4cm in Asan, 1.1cm in Daeyeonpyeong, 0.5cm in Wangsang (Incheon), and 0.2cm in Suwon.
Northwestern Seoul and Gyeonggi will see rain or snow until morning, Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, northern Chungnam, and Chungbuk will have rain or snow until afternoon, and from morning to afternoon, occasional rain or snow will occur in southern Chungnam and northern inland Gyeongbuk.
Northeastern Gyeonggi and the Jeolla West Coast will have raindrops or snow flurries until morning, and Gangwon Yeongseo and northern inland Jeonbuk will have raindrops or snow flurries until afternoon. From late night to the morning of the 7th, rain or snow will fall in southern Gyeonggi and northern Chungcheong.
As the cloud band moves mainly over southern Gyeonggi and northern Chungcheong, southern Chungnam will see snow flurries around 1cm, and northern inland Jeonbuk will have less than 0.1cm of snow flurries.
In Incheon and southern Gyeonggi (until the morning of the 7th), snow accumulation is expected to be around 1 to 5cm, while in northwestern Seoul and Gyeonggi, northern inland Gyeongbuk, the five West Sea islands, and Ulleungdo and Dokdo, accumulation will be less than 1cm. In southern Gangwon Yeongseo and the Jeolla West Coast, less than 0.1cm of snow flurries are expected.
The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "In areas where rain or snow falls today and tomorrow, roads may be slippery due to freezing rain or snow, so pedestrians and drivers should be cautious for safety."
Morning temperatures will be around -5 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, with inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon below -10 degrees. Winds will blow somewhat strongly, making the wind chill about 5 degrees lower than the actual temperature. The daytime high temperature is forecast to be between 3 and 11 degrees Celsius, and temperatures will rise from the afternoon, maintaining levels similar to the average for this time of year (low -7 to 3 degrees, high 4 to 11 degrees) through the 1st.
Dry weather warnings are in effect mainly for Seoul, the East Coast, Gangwon mountainous areas, and some inland regions, with other areas also experiencing dry conditions. Very strong winds are blowing in the Gangwon mountainous areas and strongly on the East Coast, so special caution is needed to prevent wildfires and other fire hazards.
