View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 5th that it will introduce port digital twin and smart factory solutions at the '2022 Shipbuilding, Shipping, and Port Digital Transformation International Conference,' a domestic international exhibition related to shipbuilding marine equipment, ICT, and software (SW).
This conference is hosted by Ulsan Metropolitan City and jointly organized by three institutions: Ulsan Port Authority, Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency, and Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Plant Association. It will be held on the 6th and 7th at the 3rd-floor convention hall of the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center, showcasing domestic technologies related to smart and autonomous navigation and smart ports to the world.
LG Uplus is participating upon the invitation of Ulsan Port Authority to showcase its business-to-business (B2B) solutions and technological capabilities. The two parties signed a business agreement in July to create the 'Eco Smart Port' at Ulsan Port, the largest liquid logistics hub port in Korea. LG Uplus is currently building a 5G private network, mobile edge computing (MEC) platform, 5G real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning system, and a digital twin-based integrated control platform.
LG Uplus will exhibit products and technologies in four areas: smart ports, smart factories, environmental and safety solutions, and enterprise private networks. For the 'port digital twin,' which recreates the actual port environment in a three-dimensional virtual world, a simulation monitoring operating equipment and vehicles in real-time at Busan New Port will be presented.
The smart factory solution area consists of 'motor diagnosis,' which can check the replacement timing of equipment within the factory, and 'production line anomaly detection,' where artificial intelligence (AI) learns the normal production line to detect abnormal situations occurring during the manufacturing process. Visitors can view and compare solutions by factory at a glance.
LG Uplus will also exhibit fundamental solutions for implementing smart factories such as '5G private network' and '5G dongle,' as well as 'intelligent CCTV' supporting worker safety and four types of smart safety gear that can prevent major accidents at construction sites. On the first day of the event, the 6th, a lecture on the 'Smart Port Safety Management Platform Using 5G' will also be held.
