[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Lee Jun-hyung] The government has requested gas stations that have run out of gasoline or diesel due to the Cargo Solidarity Union strike to post notices stating "Out of stock due to Cargo Solidarity Union strike."
According to related ministries on the 2nd, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy sent a cooperation request message to the Korea Gas Station Association on the previous day (1st), asking them to attach notices containing phrases such as "Gasoline out of stock due to Cargo Solidarity Union strike" when informing about stock shortages. This is intended to clearly inform consumers of the reasons for the gasoline or diesel shortages.
The Gas Station Association stated that gas stations can autonomously decide the wording of the notices. A representative of the association said, "There are cases where disputes arise over the reasons for stock shortages at gas stations," adding, "We informed the gas stations according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's request, but it is a matter for autonomous judgment."
