Samyang Group Regular Executive Personnel Changes... Six Promotions Including Lee Woon-ik, CEO of Samnam Petrochemical
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Samyang Group announced on the 2nd that it has carried out regular executive appointments for its major affiliates.
In this personnel move, Samyang Group appointed Lee Woon-ik, head of the Vietnam EP corporation, as CEO of Samnam Petrochemical. CEO Lee was recognized for establishing a stable production base during the initial phase following the establishment of the Vietnam EP corporation in 2018. Apart from CEO Lee, five promoted executives were all born after 1970, and the group appointed its first female executive in her 40s.
Considering the internal and external crisis situations, most key management personnel were retained in this appointment. This was aimed at accelerating the execution of 'Vision 2025' and stabilizing the organization. The personnel changes focused on core business areas that will lead the future, emphasizing 'Specialty (high functionality)' and global markets. Along with the regular executive appointments, some organizational restructuring was also implemented. As part of strengthening ESG management, the group established a dedicated ESG organization and a Recycling Business Team responsible for new eco-friendly packaging businesses.
