Competing with Video Content for 'World Expo Busan Bid'... Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum Holds Video Contest Awards, Expert Forum, and Citizen Debate

On the 1st, the forum held the Busan Video Contest and an expert forum, followed by an awards ceremony for the winning works and a citizen debate to promote the bid for the Busan World Expo.
From 4 PM to 6 PM that day, a “Pan-Citizen Grand Debate for the Promotion of the 2030 Busan World Expo Bid” was held in the open hall on the 2nd floor of the Busan Viewer Media Center.
The event was hosted by Professor Jung Mi-young of Dongmyung University and attended by about 100 people, including Kim Chi-yong, chairman of the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum, and Oh Seong-geun, executive chairman of the 2030 Busan World Expo Pan-Citizen Bid Committee. The first part was an expert forum, and the second part was the awards ceremony for the 17th Busan Video Contest.
The expert forum was chaired by Professor Lee Sang-ho of Kyungsung University under the theme “The Role of Broadcasting and Video in Promoting the 2030 Busan World Expo Bid.” Oh Seong-geun, executive chairman of the 2030 Busan World Expo Pan-Citizen Bid Committee, gave the keynote speech, and Lee Chi-woo, deputy director of the Busan International Exchange Foundation, Professor Kim Mi-yeon of Seoul Digital University, and Kim Hyun-jung, general director of LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting, participated in the discussion.
In his keynote, Executive Chairman Oh emphasized “The Great Transformation of the World, a Voyage Toward a Better Future,” highlighting sustainable living with nature, technological advancement for humanity, and the importance of care and sharing.
The second part of the event featured the awards ceremony for the 17th Busan Video Contest, honoring one grand prize winner, one excellence award winner, two merit award winners, twelve encouragement award winners, and three LG HelloVision special award winners.
The grand prize, the Busan Mayor’s Award, was won by Lee Ga-yeon for the work titled “Busan Culture and Arts Marble.” The excellence award, the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum Chairman’s Award, was given to An Seo-yeon and Park Min-jung for their work “There Are Separate People Who Clean.”
Kim Chi-yong, chairman of the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum, introduced the contest by saying, “This contest featured many innovative planned works themed on the 2030 Busan World Expo and Busan’s cultural and artistic content.”
Chairman Kim added, “We will strive to ensure that many people can watch these works through various media, including local broadcasters, to widely promote the 2030 Busan World Expo and Busan’s cultural and artistic content.”
The Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum was launched in 2003 with the purpose of fostering a network among industry, academia, and government to develop the video culture industry in the Busan region.

The forum, composed of about 80 experts from academia, industry, and institutions, organizes symposia, debates, seminars, and research projects related to the video industry to establish development plans and policies. It also conducts citizen participation broadcasting program contests and the Busan Citizens Video Festival.
