This event was organized to encourage the efforts of Saemaeul leaders who led local volunteer activities and the Saemaeul practice movement throughout the year.
The event was attended by about 500 people, including County Governor Oh Tae-wan, County Council Chairman Kim Gyu-chan, Gyeongsangnam-do Saemaeul Association President Ahn Hwa-young, heads of institutions and social organizations, and Saemaeul leaders. It proceeded with performance reports, awards for outstanding leaders, comprehensive awards for excellent towns and townships, keynote speeches, congratulatory speeches, scholarship donations, and adoption of a resolution.
At the awards ceremony, No Tae-seok, chairman of the Uiryeong-eup Council, received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award, while Lee Young-ho, Saemaeul leader of Daeui-myeon, and Jang Hae-ok, Saemaeul leader of Yongdeok-myeon, each received the Gyeongsangnam-do Governor's Award.
In addition, eight towns and townships, including Jijeong-myeon, received awards for excellence, and scholarships totaling 1.05 million won were awarded to foster local talent.
Chairman Lee Dong-gi said in his keynote speech, "Despite difficult times, I thank the Saemaeul family members for their hard work and passion dedicated to the Saemaeul Movement. Let us work together to create a community where we live well together through coexistence and cooperation."
