SK E&S, 2023 Executive Appointments... "Strengthening Green Portfolio"

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jung] SK E&S announced on the 1st that it has carried out a regular organizational restructuring and executive appointments to proactively respond to carbon neutrality and build a successful 'Green Portfolio' through balanced and stable sustainable growth.

Through this executive appointment and organizational restructuring, SK E&S plans to continuously pursue ▲accelerating the transition to a green portfolio linked to enhancing corporate value ▲improving sustainability through optimizing business operations and strengthening crisis management ▲securing necessary R&C (resources and capabilities) to accelerate Net Zero (carbon neutrality).

Meanwhile, SK E&S announced that it will shift from the current co-CEO system of Vice Chairman Yoo Jung-jun and President Choo Hyung-wook to a sole CEO system with President Choo Hyung-wook.

Vice Chairman Yoo Jung-jun will take charge of SK Group’s North America external cooperation and concurrently serve as CEO of 'PassKey,' which is responsible for SK E&S’s energy solutions business in the United States.

Based on his capabilities accumulated through various global business experiences and networking with political and business circles in the U.S., Vice Chairman Yoo is expected to lead SK Group’s overall business in the Americas, including policy improvements for various investment projects in energy, semiconductors, batteries, and bio sectors currently underway in the U.S.

An SK E&S official said, "2023 is the inaugural year for the full-scale implementation of 'Management System 2.0.' This personnel reshuffle was conducted in a direction that can maximize corporate value composed of various elements such as financial performance, economic value, social value, and tangible and intangible assets." He added, "We will continue to promote sustainable company growth through stable operation of the global LNG (liquefied natural gas) value chain and advancement of new businesses such as hydrogen, renewable energy, and energy solutions.”
