Aekyung Industrial Renews Vegan Personal Care Brand 'Alpiste'
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Aekyung Industrial announced on the 30th that it has newly relaunched its naturalistic haircare brand ‘Alpist’ (alpist) as a ‘vegan personal care brand’ embodying the cleanliness and beauty of the Alpine wilderness.
Alpist is a premium personal care brand that contains eight herbal extracts such as Edelweiss and Alpine Wormwood, which grow in the Swiss highlands, helping to maintain healthy and clean skin. Since its initial launch in 2016 as a naturalistic haircare brand, the brand has expanded its meaning to a personal care brand containing natural ingredients in response to growing consumer awareness of healthy skin care not only for the scalp but also for the body.
As a vegan brand that does not use animal-derived ingredients, all products have obtained ‘Vegan Certification’ from the Korea Vegan Certification Institute. In addition, sustainable packaging using recycled material containers was applied to practice clean beauty that considers the environment.
Along with the brand renewal, four types of shampoo and treatment for healthy scalp care were introduced. The lineup consists of three shampoos and one treatment: ‘Baby Powder Scent Shampoo & Treatment,’ reminiscent of fluttering snowflakes; ‘Cotton Musk Scent Shampoo,’ evoking softly piled perennial snow; and ‘Citrus Green Scent Shampoo,’ reminiscent of a deep and dense forest. A mildly acidic formula was applied for a comfortable scalp environment, and natural ingredients help gently care for the scalp and hair. In particular, it excludes 12 ingredients of concern for scalp health and has been confirmed to be low-irritant through skin irritation tests.
