On the 26th, about 70 employees and their families from the Administrative Division and Social Welfare Division of Miryang City Hall participated in a plogging event along Geumsidang-gil, a famous trail in Miryang, using pre-distributed plogging kits to pick up trash, promoting health and environmental protection activities.
Plogging is a compound word combining the Swedish word "ploka upp," meaning "to pick up," and the English word "walking," referring to the activity of picking up trash while walking.
After the plogging event, participants had the opportunity to learn about local attractions through an experience at the traditional Korean archery range, which also served as a time to recharge outside of work and build trust among employees, contributing to enhanced communication and the creation of a healthy organizational culture.
Employees who participated in the event said, "It was great to walk along Geumsidang-gil, a local attraction trail, and experience the archery range. It was even more meaningful and rewarding to protect the environment by picking up trash," adding, "If plogging events with local attractions are held again, I would like to actively participate."

Kim Byung-jin, Director of the Administrative Bureau, said, "It was a meaningful time as employees used their weekend to participate in the plogging event along the local attraction trail," and added, "Environmental protection can be done without special time or format, so I hope good events like plogging on attraction trails spread. Miryang City officials will continue to practice open administration that approaches citizens more closely and make greater efforts to protect the environment."
