This book talk event will be held as the "Winter" edition of the series "Meeting Local Authors Around Our Neighborhood by Season." It will provide an opportunity to discuss the life of haenyeo, the theme of the picture book, the motivation behind writing the picture book based on that life, and personal dreams and hopes with the author.
Jeonggwan Library has been hosting the "Meeting Local Authors Around Our Neighborhood by Season" event to invite local authors from Gijang-gun as storytellers and create a space for communication with local residents.
Following the "Spring" edition (children's literature) in April, the "Summer" edition (essays) in July, and the "Autumn" edition (novels) in September, this year's final "Winter" edition will feature a book talk themed on "marine literature," marking the grand finale of the "Meeting Local Authors Around Our Neighborhood by Season" event aimed at revitalizing local humanities in daily life.
The book talk will be held on December 15 at 10 a.m. in the Summer Lecture Room on the 2nd floor of Jeonggwan Library. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Jeonggwan Library website starting at 10 a.m. on December 1. The number of participants for on-site attendance is limited to 20 people.
