Gyeonggawon Hosts 'Carbon Neutrality' Green Venture Startup Demo Day
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency held a demo day to foster 'Green Venture Startups.'
On the 25th, the agency announced that on the 24th, together with Korea District Heating Corporation, it held the '2022 Green Venture Startup Fostering Project Practical IR Demo Day' event to realize carbon neutrality and foster green venture startups.
The event, held at the Gyeonggi Base Venture Center (Eastern Region), was planned to foster green venture startups for achieving carbon neutrality.
Earlier, on June, the agency selected 20 companies and conducted specialized programs to strengthen investment attraction capabilities, including corporate IR training, mentoring, and corporate branding for the selected companies.
At this IR demo day, 20 companies in the carbon neutrality field that completed the capability enhancement program participated and conducted corporate IR presentations. Six investment judges participated and selected five companies for Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Merit Award.
The Grand Prize was awarded to Reset Company (solar panel unmanned cleaning robot). The Excellence Awards went to Recoveri (coffee grounds upcycling bioplastic C-PLA) and SID Hub (AiOT air management solution), and the Merit Awards were given to ElecFieldFuture (high-output eco-friendly new concept ultraviolet sterilization light source) and Bokyong (eco-friendly electric bicycle 'ROKI').
The awarded companies received prize money of 30 million KRW for the Grand Prize, 20 million KRW for the Excellence Award, and 10 million KRW for the Merit Award.

Yoo Seung-kyung, head of the agency, said, "Carbon neutrality is not a choice but a necessity and the direction we must take for a sustainable future," and promised, "We will provide extensive support so that green venture startups, the innovators of carbon neutrality, can lead new technology development and new markets."
