Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education Park Jong-hoon Keeps Promises Well... 37 Members Selected for Pledge Project Evaluation Committee
Gyeongnam Office of Education is conducting a public lottery to select members who will evaluate the campaign promises of Park Jong-hoon, the 18th Superintendent of Education.

The provincial Office of Education held a public recruitment from the 7th to the 21st to select 35 resident evaluation committee members and 5 student evaluation committee members, aiming to implement an administration that ensures fair and objective evaluation of pledge fulfillment and institutionalizes resident participation.
The selection was made through an open recruitment method including residents, parents, faculty members, as well as middle and high school students who are the main subjects of education.
A total of 79 residents participated in this recruitment, including ▲2 students ▲29 parents ▲19 general residents ▲29 faculty members, from which 35 resident committee members and 2 student committee members were selected through a public lottery.
The committee members will check ▲evaluation of pledge project implementation ▲matters related to confirmation and changes of pledge project implementation ▲major matters concerning the pledges.
According to the provincial Office of Education, 43 people applied for the Changwon area, where 9 resident evaluation members are assigned, and 10 people applied for the Jinju area, where 3 members are assigned.
For student evaluation members, 2 people applied for the 5 assigned positions, and the remaining members will be additionally recruited until the 28th.
Resident evaluation members are selected by proportional lottery according to the population of each city and county.
An official from the provincial Office of Education explained, “All lottery processes were broadcast live through the official YouTube channel for transparency,” adding, “In six regions including Tongyeong, where the number of applicants was less than or equal to the assigned number, members were selected without a lottery.”
He further stated, “In regions such as Changwon, Jinju, Gimhae, Geoje, Yangsan, and Haman, where the number of applicants exceeded the assigned number, a public lottery was held, and for six regions including Sacheon with no applicants, a combined lottery was conducted among applicants from regions with excess applicants.”

Superintendent Park said, “The pledges are promises to the residents, and we will faithfully fulfill them through systematic management over the next four years,” adding, “I have high expectations for the role of the pledge project evaluation committee.”
