This event was organized to support the entry of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises into the Indian consumer goods market. Similar events were held in New Delhi and Bengaluru in India in June and July, respectively.
KOTRA stated that as India has grown into a representative Hallyu consumer market due to the Hallyu fandom, the consumer goods expo has been expanded throughout India. Since the hosting regions are places where domestic products are not easily available, it is expected to serve as an opportunity for K-consumer goods to spread in the Indian market. India is an emerging market with a population of 1.4 billion and relatively high economic growth.
At this promotional event, KOTRA provides opportunities for 36 Indian distribution companies importing K-consumer goods to sell Korean products on-site and encourages additional imports. More than 150 products from domestic companies, including beauty, food, and daily consumer goods, will be sold at the expo.
