Russian Woman Dies After Surgery at Hospital in Gangnam
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A Russian woman who underwent a facelift surgery at a plastic surgery clinic located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, died, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 23rd, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating the case of a woman in her 40s of Russian nationality, identified as Ms. A, who died after undergoing facelift surgery and while recovering around 8 p.m. on the 21st.
Police and firefighters who responded to the report transported Ms. A to a nearby large hospital, but she was ultimately pronounced dead.
Facelift surgery is typically performed to improve sagging skin and wrinkles and is also known as lifting surgery.

The police plan to apply for an autopsy warrant to accurately determine the circumstances of the incident. A police official stated, "We have already summoned and questioned the surgeon who performed the operation," adding, "We plan to further investigate related personnel such as the anesthesiologist and nurses."
