View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] KT announced on the 23rd that it will collaborate with Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School to nurture youth artificial intelligence (AI) talents.
This collaboration started from the shared understanding between KT and the school that fostering digital future talents requires not only acquiring theoretical knowledge such as the basic principles of AI but also developing practical skills to apply AI in various fields. To this end, both parties will share their experiences and resources to prepare educational curricula, content, and practical platforms for use in the classroom, working together to cultivate AI talents among Korean youth.
Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School was selected last year as the first AI-specialized high school in Korea. This year, it established three new departments: AI Computing, AI Electrical Engineering, and AI Software, aiming to train technicians who will play active roles in the AI industry sector.
KT and Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School plan to jointly develop teaching and learning materials and educational courses for AI education. Additionally, they will gradually introduce the AICE Basic, Associate, and Professional certification system within the regular curriculum of Kwangwoon AI High School by grade level, and actively cooperate in developing AICE Junior educational content for middle and high school students.
AICE (AI Certificate for Everyone) is an AI competency test developed by KT to expand the AI base in Korea. It consists of five levels?Basic, Associate, Professional, Junior, and Future?that assess AI skills required at different life stages. KT also provides various AI educational content based on this certification.
