[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] North Korea mentioned Chairman Kim Il-sung during the 'anti-Japanese partisan' period and ordered absolute loyalty to Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party. This is interpreted as an attempt to strengthen the unity of the people by comparing North Korea's current difficult situation under overlapping international sanctions to the era of Japanese colonial rule.
The Workers' Party organ, Rodong Sinmun, stated on the 22nd, "The anti-Japanese fighters were passionate loyalists who absolutely believed in and followed the great leader anytime and anywhere, enduring hardships and trials beyond human imagination," adding, "The people's unwavering loyalty and absolute faith were born and firmly established on the bloody battlefields of the anti-Japanese struggle."
It continued, "The single-minded loyalty of our people who uphold and follow the General Secretary comrade is 100% pure and immaculate loyalty, with no trace of even 0.001% of anything else," emphasizing, "Accordingly, our people absolutely believe in and follow the leader without a moment's change of heart, and are willing to offer everything in life, even their lives, without hesitation to realize the leader's ideology and guidance."
In particular, it stressed, "The people's absolute and unchanging belief that if they lose their legs, they will follow crawling; if they lose their sight, they will follow by feeling; and if their life ends, their spirit will still follow, is being strengthened more firmly through centuries and generations," adding, "Today, the faith and will of tens of millions to loyally uphold the beloved General Secretary and to fight unyieldingly for the victory of the Juche revolutionary cause are increasing a hundredfold."
