Chairman Jeong stated this on the morning of the 17th during an Emergency Response Committee meeting held at the National Assembly. He posed a public inquiry, saying, "I ask former President Moon Jae-in, the top figure in this case," suggesting suspicions that the former president's North Korea policy is deeply connected to this incident.
He questioned, "Were you aware that Ssangbangwool's $70,000 was delivered to Kim Yong-chol (Director of the United Front Department) in North Korea? Is it possible for a private company like Ssangbangwool and the Asia-Pacific Peace Exchange Association to pay bribes to Kim Yong-chol without the mediation of the Moon Jae-in Blue House and the National Intelligence Service?" He further asked, "To what extent did former President Moon know about these secret contacts and illegal bribery payments?"
Chairman Jeong continued, "The prosecution revealed that Ssangbangwool's remittance to North Korea amounts to $7 million, which is a large sum equivalent to 10 billion won at the exchange rate. The period when Ssangbangwool concentrated its payments was from late 2018 to January 2019," and questioned, "Could the money Ssangbangwool sent have been paid retroactively as a reward for the 2018 inter-Korean summit?"
He added, "Ssangbangwool delivered a large sum in January 2019, around the same time that about ten Rolex luxury watches were delivered to North Korean high-ranking officials," and noted, "On February 27 of the same year, the Hanoi U.S.-North Korea summit was held. Was the Moon Jae-in administration paying large sums to win North Korea's favor?"

After the meeting, Chairman Jeong responded to reporters' questions about whether the party had any statements or evidence related to the North Korea remittance issue, saying, "The Dong-A Ilbo report on the allegations is detailed, and considering precedents before inter-Korean summits, it is a matter worthy of suspicion, which is why I made a public inquiry." He added, "Since the Ssangbangwool North Korea remittance issue is under investigation, we are urging the prosecution authorities to uncover the truth."
