Jongseop Lee, Ministry of National Defense, Holds 4th Planning Meeting... Concrete Short-, Medium-, and Long-Term Implementation Plans
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop ordered, "Since the Defense Innovation 4.0 basic plan has reached the concretization stage, please establish a complete plan to ensure it becomes a realistic and practical innovation."
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 17th, the day before, Minister Lee Jong-seop presided over the 4th meeting for the establishment of the 'Defense Innovation 4.0 Plan' and said, "To overcome various challenges in the future domestic and international defense environment, consensus among defense officials and strong will for promotion are necessary, and in that sense, I believe today's discussion will be the foundation for the successful promotion of Defense Innovation 4.0."
The meeting was attended by Minister Lee, Deputy Minister of Defense Shin Beom-cheol, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kim Seung-gyeom, as well as Army Chief of Staff Park Jeong-hwan, Navy Chief of Staff Lee Jong-ho, Air Force Chief of Staff Jeong Sang-hwa, Deputy Commander of the Combined Forces Command Ahn Byeong-seok, Marine Corps Commander Kim Tae-seong, Defense Acquisition Program Administration Chief Eom Dong-hwan, Director of the Agency for Defense Development Park Jong-seung, and about 60 others.
During the meeting, considering the target year 2040 for Defense Innovation 4.0, the Ministry of National Defense specified short-, medium-, and long-term promotion plans and strengthened the linkage between tasks. They also improved completeness through opinion gathering and discussions with key military officials, the Ministry reported.
