Final Selection of 6 Outstanding Cases for the Second Half of the Year Including COVID-19 Response and Citizen Safety Enhancement
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam selected six cases of the ‘2022 Second Half Active Administration Best Practices’ reflecting the results of a citizen vote conducted through the Changwon City website until November 11.
The city actively responded to the rapidly changing administrative environment and contributed to alleviating citizen inconveniences by receiving recommendations for active administration cases from citizens and all departments since October. Among 25 cases, six excellent cases were selected through preliminary and final evaluations, followed by a ranking competition involving employees and citizen participation.
As a result, the best case for the main office departments was ▲ Establishing a seamless COVID-19 living support payment system (Social Welfare Division), and the best case for affiliated institutions, business offices, district offices, and eup/myeon/dong offices was ▲ Completing a construction project that would normally take two months in two days to perfectly prepare for a typhoon (Masanhwasu Center, Sewerage Business Office).
Other excellent cases included ▲ Securing stable operation and financial soundness of dead-end routes at once! (New Transportation Promotion Team) and ▲ Sending landfill leachate cleanly and neatly cutting budget waste! (Landfill Management Division, Green City Business Office).
The encouragement awards went to ▲ Voucher taxi implemented with indomitable will, expanding mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable groups! (Transportation Policy Division) and ▲ Increasing immunity and saving budget through operation of mobile vaccination centers! (Health Management Division, Masan Health Center).
The city plans to award the selected outstanding cases after review by the personnel committee and provide personnel incentives.
