Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Implements Proactive Administration Through Environmental Cleanup Activities at Udu-ri Small Vessel Wharf
Partial Section Neglect, Resolving Complaints About Using Old Containers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced on the 15th that it has completed the environmental maintenance work at Uduri Small Ship Wharf.
There have been continuous complaints regarding abandoned fishing gear and the use of old containers in certain sections of the Uduri Small Ship Wharf used by fishermen.
Accordingly, YGPA persuaded the fishermen using the port facilities to voluntarily carry out environmental maintenance, while proactively leading facility maintenance and container repainting, thereby practicing active administration contributing to the improvement of Yeosu City's landscape.
President Park Seong-hyun stated, “We will do our best to play an active role in enhancing customer satisfaction for those using the small ship wharf and to realize a port that coexists with the local community.”
Meanwhile, the authority is strengthening on-site inspections, crackdowns on illegal activities, and guidance to prevent safety accidents within the small ship wharf and is making efforts to prevent accidents.
