Coway Creates 3,801㎡ 'Coway Cheongjeong Forest' in Hongcheon Area
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Coway announced on the 14th that it is promoting the creation of the "Coway Clean Forest" in cooperation with the social enterprise Triple Planet as a public interest project for future generations.
The Coway Clean Forest will be established on approximately 3,801m² in Bangnae-ri, Naemyeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. The Coway Clean Forest is part of Coway's ongoing "Clean School Classroom Forest" project. Through this, trees will be planted corresponding to the number of students participating in environmental education to encourage their involvement and interest in environmental protection.
On the 11th, as the first step in creating the Coway Clean Forest, Coway planted 650 ash trees in Bangnae-ri, Naemyeon, Hongcheon-gun. Coway employees and representatives from Triple Planet participated in the event.
Starting with this event, Coway plans to donate 1,150 trees by the first half of next year and plant 2,000 trees annually to establish the Coway Clean Forest.
The Coway Clean School Classroom Forest project, which Coway is conducting to raise children's awareness of ecosystem protection, began with the first installation at Guro Nam Elementary School in Seoul last June and has since been carried out for about 1,150 students across three elementary schools nationwide.
Coway plans to continuously expand the number of schools participating in the Clean School Classroom Forest and, in connection with this, create Coway Clean Forests in areas where forest restoration is needed due to deforestation.
