Chinese Premier Li Keqiang who met Yoon: "Will play a constructive role for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula"
No mention of Li Keqiang regarding Han Intae strategy
[Phnom Penh (Cambodia) = Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 12th, President Yoon Suk-yeol met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and heard that China will play a constructive role in the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
A senior official from the presidential office stated at a press room briefing in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where the ASEAN+3 (Korea-China-Japan) summit was held, "Before the summit, President Yoon Suk-yeol and Premier Li Keqiang met in the waiting room and had a brief conversation."
On that day, President Yoon attended the ASEAN+3 summit together with Premier Li. The official introduced, "President Yoon expressed expectations for the development of Korea-China relations based on mutual respect and the principle of reciprocity, and exchanged views on the North Korean nuclear issue."
Regarding this, the official conveyed, "President Yoon expressed concern over a series of provocations by North Korea."
Premier Li also stated, "China will make constructive efforts for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula." South Korea and the United States have recently used the term 'denuclearization of North Korea' regarding North Korea's nuclear development issue, while China traditionally uses 'denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,' so Premier Li's remarks are interpreted as reaffirming the existing principled stance.
