Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts Leadership Training for Grade 6 Public Officials
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) announced on the 10th that it conducted leadership training to enhance the capabilities of grade 6 public officials over two days starting from the 8th.
The training, attended by 81 grade 6 public officials of Seo-gu Office, was organized to develop the capabilities to establish themselves as key leaders playing a central role in the administration of the 8th popularly elected district government.
In particular, the program focused on eliciting empathy regarding the difficulties and importance of middle managers who must simultaneously act as coordinators and practitioners within the changed organizational culture.
To this end, participants analyzed their own emotions and behavior types through self-diagnosis and shared their individual leadership tendencies.
To understand the behavioral and cognitive characteristics of the new generation as leaders and to explore the changing organizational value directions, various participatory programs such as games, discussions, and presentations were also operated, receiving positive responses.
Seo-gu plans to conclude the training by holding sessions on the 15th and 16th to share customized mentoring methods aimed at developing the capabilities and potential of individual team members and promoting growth.
A Seo-gu Office public official said, “This training was an effective time to set individual goals and activity directions through various educational techniques,” and added, “It allowed us to seriously consider recognizing our roles as middle managers and building healthy relationships with team members.”
