Yeonggwang-gun Conducts Disaster Response Drill for Fine Dust Pollution
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 9th that it conducted a 'fine dust disaster response drill' assuming a situation where a nationwide fine dust crisis alert 'caution' level is issued.
The fine dust disaster response drill is conducted once a year regularly with the goal of checking the cooperation system of each relevant department in case of high concentration fine dust during the winter season when fine dust concentration increases, discovering possible problems occurring on site, and supplementing the manual.
In this drill, simulated crackdowns on grade 5 emission vehicles, guidance and inspection of construction sites emitting scattered dust, and road cleaning were carried out, and 11 fine dust shelters were opened for vulnerable groups to fine dust.
Deputy Governor Kim Jang-o said, "In disaster situations, it is necessary for all relevant departments to closely cooperate with the general department and responsibly perform their respective roles," and added, "We will reflect the improvements discovered through this drill in the manual and strive to enhance disaster response capabilities so that we can respond quickly in actual situations."
