Special Investigation Headquarters Conducts Search and Seizure of CEO of Itaewon Hamilton Hotel
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The Special Investigation Headquarters (Special HQ) of the National Police Agency, investigating the Itaewon disaster, launched a forced investigation on the CEO of Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 9th.
From 11 a.m. that day, the Special HQ dispatched 14 investigators to conduct a search and seizure at three locations, including the residence of the Hamilton Hotel CEO. Previously, the Special HQ had booked Mr. A, the president of Hamilton Hotel adjacent to the disaster site, on charges including violation of the Building Act.

According to the Special HQ, Mr. A is suspected of constructing an illegal building on the west side of the Hamilton Hotel main building and occupying the adjacent road without permission. Through this search and seizure, the Special HQ plans to examine whether there is any correlation between the illegal building of Hamilton Hotel and the Itaewon disaster.
