Dongyang Life Insurance Hosts 'Day to Befriend the Park' Event to Restore Waterside Ecological Park
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Dongyang Life Insurance announced on the 9th that it conducted the ‘Day of Becoming Friends with the Park’ campaign with its employees to restore the waterfront ecological parks damaged by heavy rain this summer.
This volunteer activity marked the resumption of face-to-face volunteer work by employees after about three years of suspension due to COVID-19, and was carried out in collaboration with the non-profit environmental organization Seoul Green Trust.
The volunteer activity, which also allowed participation from general citizen volunteers, took place over two days on the 26th and 28th of last month. Approximately 60 Dongyang Life Insurance employees and citizen volunteers gathered at Godeok Waterfront Ecological Park in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and Nanji Hangang Park Ecological Wetland in Mapo-gu, where they installed perches for kingfishers to rest on the sandbars and planted about 700 Chinese privet trees to reduce fine dust.
