Will the Burden on Video Content Producers Decrease?
Assemblyman Kim Yoon-duk Leads the Proposal of the 'Tax Special Cases Act Amendment Bill'
On the 8th, Kim Yoon-duk, a member of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee from the Democratic Party of Korea, announced that he has taken the lead in proposing a 'Tax Special Cases Act Amendment' to ease the burden on video content production companies. This is a follow-up measure to the national audit concluded last month. The main contents include extending the application period for tax credit special cases, increasing the tax credit rate, and adding new targets for special case application. Through broad and detailed support, the plan aims to revitalize domestic video content production. Representative Kim said, "Although the political situation is tense and difficult, as this year's regular session of the National Assembly has passed the halfway point, I will devote myself to fulfilling the Assembly's fundamental role." Meanwhile, in his capacity as the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee's secretary, Representative Kim will visit the U.S. Embassy in Korea on the 9th. He will meet with the recently visiting U.S. delegation to exchange views on strengthening cultural, artistic, and tourism exchanges.
