Gyeongnam Province to Promote Rural Labor Assistance Until the 25th
Governor Park Wansu of Gyeongnam Province is visiting a Dan-gam persimmon farm in Jinyeong, Gimhae to assist with the harvest.

On that day, Governor Park helped harvest persimmons together with about 120 employees from the provincial government, the Nonghyup Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, and the Korea Rural Community Corporation Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters.
Since the 12th of last month until the 25th of this month, Gyeongnam Province has designated this period as the rural labor assistance promotion period, setting up a placement window to support the shortage of labor for persimmon harvesting, crop sowing, and transplanting work.
This year, an additional 400 million KRW was invested, totaling 1.8 billion KRW, to pay wages and brokerage fees for manpower at rural manpower brokerage centers in 15 cities and counties within the province, expanding the operation of brokerage centers, and connecting about 164,000 people with farms so far.
A provincial official explained, “Each farm can receive labor assistance through the Gyeongnam Province website banner, agricultural technology centers of each city and county, and the Nonghyup labor assistance promotion centers,” adding, “We plan to actively conduct joint labor assistance in cooperation with agricultural-related organizations such as Nonghyup and the Korea Rural Community Corporation.”

Governor Park said, “Rural labor assistance will be a great help to farmers who temporarily need a lot of labor during critical periods,” and added, “We will actively respond to agricultural policy issues to balance rural labor supply and demand and do our best to enhance the public functions of agriculture.”
