Since the revision of the “Regulations on the Establishment, Operation, and Management of National Natural Recreation Forests” in May 2018, Geommaksan National Natural Recreation Forest has been reborn as a dog-friendly recreation forest, providing opportunities to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the forest with companion dogs in the era of 10 million companion dogs.
At Geommaksan National Natural Recreation Forest, 7 out of 16 rooms in the recreation hall and 9 out of 24 camping sites are operated as dog-friendly facilities. They run specialized forest education programs for companion dogs such as “Today, I Become a Companion Person of My Dog,” which fosters healing and sociability through the forest’s embracing power for dogs, and “A Forest Trip with My Dog,” where owners and their dogs enjoy forest meditation and walks together.
Additionally, a dog rest area has been established within the forest bathing zone of the recreation forest, equipped with facilities for dogs such as dog hammocks, swings, and dog houses. Visitors can have a more special time and create memories with their dogs through experiential activities at these facilities encountered during walks.
For related matters and inquiries about reservations and use of the recreation forest, please contact the management office.
