South Korea-Japan Foreign Ministers: "North Korea's Missile Provocations Only Lead to Isolation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The foreign ministers of South Korea and Japan strongly condemned North Korea's missile provocations.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 3rd, Foreign Minister Park Jin had a phone call with Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa, who is visiting Germany to attend the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, to discuss the recent series of North Korean provocations and future response measures.
The two ministers criticized North Korea for violating multiple UN Security Council resolutions by launching various missiles and multiple rocket launchers, including a ballistic missile targeting South Korea's territorial waters near the East Sea NLL (Northern Limit Line) south of the line the previous day, and again launching one long-range ballistic missile and two short-range ballistic missiles on the same day.

The ministers also pointed out that North Korea, ignoring repeated warnings from the international community and continuing provocations to advance its nuclear and missile capabilities, bears full responsibility for escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula and in the region. They emphasized that North Korea's provocations will further isolate the country and strengthen security cooperation among South Korea, the United States, and Japan, ultimately undermining North Korea's own security.
