Stock Market Opens at 10 AM, Delayed by One Hour on Suneung Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] On the 17th of this month, when the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) is held, the domestic stock market will open one hour later than usual, at 10 a.m.
On the 3rd, the Korea Exchange announced that it will delay the opening and closing times of the KOSPI Market, KOSDAQ Market, and KONEX Market by one hour on the day of the CSAT.
Accordingly, the regular trading hours of these markets, which are usually from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will be changed to 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on that day.
Pre-market and after-hours trading sessions will also be postponed by one hour.
For after-hours single-price and block/basket trades, the start time will be delayed by one hour, but the closing time remains at 6 p.m.
In the derivatives market, the opening and closing times of stock and interest rate products such as KOSPI 200 futures and options, Mini KOSPI 200 futures and options, KRX 300 futures, and government bond futures will be postponed by one hour. Currency products like U.S. dollar futures and options, and gold futures will have only their opening times delayed by one hour. Pork futures will remain unchanged as usual.
The night market trading KOSPI 200 futures and U.S. dollar futures will have their opening time delayed by one hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., while the closing time (5 a.m. the next day) remains the same.
For general commodities markets, the gold market will have its opening delayed by one hour, but the closing time remains at 3:30 p.m. The KSM (KRX Startup Market) trading hours will be postponed by one hour, the same as the securities markets.
The trading hours for the oil market (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and the emission trading market (10 a.m. to noon) will remain unchanged.
