In July, GS Shop converted the second largest of its four studios into a digital studio by installing an LED screen wall measuring 22 meters wide and 3.6 meters high. Analyzing the effects of this digital studio transition over three months from August to the end of October, sales from broadcasts conducted in this studio increased by approximately 7% compared to the same period last year, while waste was reduced by 8 tons.
The digital studio allows for easy digital implementation of stages optimized for the products and brands being sold through the LED screen wall. A representative example is the TS Shampoo 8th anniversary special broadcast held in August. Thanks to the active exposure of the new model, singer Lim Young-woong’s advertisement on the LED screen, the prepared quantity sold out within 40 minutes, generating sales of 1.5 billion KRW.
On the 15th of last month, comedian Jang Do-yeon served as a special MC for the '22FW Fashion Showcase' broadcast, where a modern architectural space was digitally created to maximize spatial sense, captivating customers’ eyes and ears. It was explained that the set, which could not be physically built, was digitally realized to produce a surreal awards ceremony atmosphere. As a result, the broadcast was viewed by 30,000 households on KT and SK Broadband IPTV platforms, more than double the viewership of typical home shopping broadcasts.
It also contributes to environmental protection. GS Shop stated, "By not using any physical sets, props, or paint typically used in regular studios, we achieved a waste reduction effect of about 8 tons over the past three months."
Additionally, since April, GS Shop has replaced disposable alkaline batteries used for broadcasting equipment with rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries and has upgraded halogen and fluorescent lights in the control rooms where PDs conduct live broadcasts to eco-friendly LED lights, strengthening the establishment of an environmentally friendly broadcasting environment.
