'North Missile Provocation' Ulleungdo Air Raid Alert Lifted... Replaced with Vigilance Alert

At around 8:51 a.m. that day, North Korea launched three short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) from the Wonsan area in Gangwon Province toward the East Sea, and one of them landed in international waters south of the East Sea NLL. View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on the 2nd that the air raid alert issued for the Ulleungdo area was lifted at 2 p.m. following North Korea's ballistic missile launch south of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the East Sea.
A Joint Chiefs of Staff official explained, "Based on the threat assessment of the Ulleungdo area, the air raid alert was lifted at 14:00 and replaced with a vigilance alert," adding, "Our military is currently closely tracking and monitoring North Korean military activities and maintaining military readiness to prepare for any possible situation."

This air raid alert was issued in response to North Korea launching three short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) into the East Sea from the Wonsan area in Gangwon Province at around 8:51 a.m. that day. The Central Civil Defense Alert Control Center of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety issued the alert at around 8:55 a.m., following a request from the Aerospace Operations Command at approximately 8:54 a.m.
