T'way Air Launches New Cheongju-Da Nang Route in January 2023
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced on the 2nd that it will launch a new route between Cheongju and Da Nang on January 11 next year and begin operating regular flights four times a week. By starting service at Cheongju Airport, which currently has no international routes, the airline aims to revitalize the airport and enhance travel convenience for local passengers.
The Cheongju-Da Nang route has been suspended since February 2020. With T'way Air's new regular service, residents in nearby areas are expected to find it much easier to travel to the popular Vietnamese destination of Da Nang via Cheongju Airport.
T'way Air began operations at Cheongju International Airport in April 2020, starting with the Cheongju-Jeju route. The Cheongju-Da Nang route will operate four times a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday) starting January 11 next year. From February 8 to March 5, the frequency will increase to one flight daily. Additional flights will be added on January 20 and 23 during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The flight schedule, based on local time, departs Cheongju Airport at 9:10 PM every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving in Da Nang at 12:15 AM the next day. From Da Nang, flights depart at 1:15 AM every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, arriving in Cheongju at 7:30 AM. The schedule is subject to change depending on local regulatory approvals.
Ticket reservations for the Cheongju-Da Nang route are available starting today on T'way Air's website, mobile app, and web platforms. Recently, T'way Air hired new cabin crew based at Cheongju Airport. The airline is also recruiting ground handling staff and establishing a catering warehouse at Cheongju Airport as part of comprehensive preparations for expanding its routes.
