[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] BNK Gyeongnam Bank held a DSC (Digital Strategy Committee) meeting on the 31st to review the current status of its DT (Digital Transformation) projects and share future strategic tasks.

The DSC, conducted in a dual format combining the main auditorium and real-time video service (ZOOM), was attended by about 200 people including Bank President Choi Hong-young, executives, department heads of headquarters, and deputy branch managers.

The DSC is an organization newly established in March to serve as a control tower for executing DT strategic tasks for the transition to a digital bank. Bank President Choi Hong-young serves as the chairman, and this was the 6th session held as a company-wide event.

In the first session, the progress of 44 detailed projects under the 10 major DT strategic tasks promoted by each business division this year was reviewed.

At the beginning of this year, BNK Gyeongnam Bank presented 10 major digital transformation tasks including six technical areas: ▲expanding product lineup and services ▲establishing data management systems ▲providing customer-tailored offers ▲offering integrated products and services ▲discovering new digital technologies, and four cultural areas: ▲establishing a bank-wide DT promotion system ▲building a digital evaluation system ▲developing digital talents ▲settling a digital organizational culture.

In the second session, Kim Jin-han, Executive Director of the Digital Finance Headquarters, gave a presentation on the implementation plan for the transition to a digital bank. Executive Director Kim stated, “We must present reasons why customers have no choice but to select Gyeongnam Bank to survive,” and proposed execution tasks related to product competitiveness, marketing, and organizational systems to achieve this.

After the presentation, several deputy branch managers freely shared ideas about digital experiences and customer feedback they felt on-site, continuing an active discussion.

President Choi said, “For the transition to a digital bank, technology is important, but the mindset of employees is even more crucial. True digital banking can only be achieved when employees’ creative thinking and understanding from a digital perspective are the foundation.”

He added, “Branch managers should actively support and cooperate so that employees can develop their digital capabilities.”
