Floor leader Lee said, "I am deeply shocked and heartbroken by the tragic and unbelievable news of the Itaewon disaster. I sincerely pray for the souls of the deceased."
He mentioned accidents such as the Sewol ferry, Sampoong Department Store, and Seongsu Bridge, saying, "The fact that this was something that could have been sufficiently prepared for and prevented weighs heavily on my heart. I am reconsidering the responsibility for citizens' lives and the safety of the community."
He conveyed, "I offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and acquaintances, and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured," and added, "I thank the firefighters, police officers, medical staff who worked tirelessly through the night for emergency rescue, and the citizens who helped at the scene."
Representative Jeongmi Lee also said, "I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident," and "I offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and hope those injured recover quickly."
