View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education will hold a video conference for vice superintendents of student safety inspection from metropolitan and provincial offices of education, chaired by Vice Minister Jang Sang-yoon, at the Yeouido Education Facility Safety Center on the afternoon of the 30th, regarding the large-scale crush disaster that occurred in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu.
An official from the Ministry of Education stated, "We are currently assessing the situation of student casualties through metropolitan and provincial offices of education and the police," adding, "At the vice superintendents' meeting, we plan to urge thorough student safety education related to attendance at large-scale events."
The Ministry of Education also plans to discuss measures to provide psychological treatment support to prevent students from becoming unsettled due to this incident.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will also hold an emergency meeting on the afternoon of the same day to check for student casualties and discuss matters related to student safety education.

Earlier, on the night of the 29th in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, tens of thousands of people gathered ahead of Halloween Day, resulting in a large-scale crush disaster. As of 9 a.m., 151 people were confirmed dead and 82 injured. Among those who died or were seriously injured, many are in their 20s, but it is known that teenagers are also included.
