The briefing session was held to create an opportunity for cooperation and communication between the central and local governments, with about 200 mayors, county governors, and district heads from across the country attending.
In his representative remarks, Mayor Park said, "The Miryang Nano Convergence National Industrial Complex and the Smart Farm Innovation Valley are making Miryang a topic of discussion," adding, "While the diversity and creativity of regions are very important for the future and new innovations of the Republic of Korea, many things are overly concentrated in the metropolitan area, leading to uniformity and continued growth limitations," conveying the difficulties faced by local areas as they are.
He further stated, "Just as local talents who have been challenging the economic development of Korea have played a key role, it is judged that the central government can also develop if regions continuously develop and create diversity and creativity," and evaluated, "In this regard, the Opportunity Development Zones pledge project is a secret strategy to develop regions."

I hope that the proposed policies will be institutionalized promptly and that the regions will develop in a balanced manner."
