Global Speakers and Yangjae AI Companies Invited Conference Held at 'Yangjae aT Center'
Collaboration with Quebec, Canada Provides Opportunity to Understand Overseas Technology Trends
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 30th that it will hold the international artificial intelligence (AI) conference ‘AI SEOUL 2022’ under the theme ‘AI, Drawing the future of Seoul’ for two days on December 3-4 at the Yangjae aT Center. The city holds an annual international conference to create an open ecosystem for the ‘artificial intelligence’ industry and to strengthen networks among companies and industry stakeholders.
Now in its fifth year, the international AI conference ‘AI SEOUL 2022’ is hosted by the ‘AI Yangjae Hub,’ a specialized support organization for AI-focused companies. Over two days, various business programs will be held, including ▲Industry Trend Conference ▲Talent Recruitment Fair ▲Collaboration with the Quebec Cluster ▲Investment Attraction Meetings. The event will comprehensively showcase the achievements of ‘AI Yangjae Hub companies’ this year, which have been recognized for their technological potential by winning numerous CES 2022 Innovation Awards.
In particular, through this conference, the city will officially begin cooperation between the Yangjae AI Innovation District and Quebec, a global AI industry cluster. Speakers from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, along with Canadian startups such as HerbiaEra and Yulcom Technologies, will visit Seoul to explore new opportunities for business collaboration and creation.
The first day of the ‘Global AI Conference’ on December 3 will open with a keynote speech on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Society.’ Benjamin Prudhomme, Executive Director of MILA, will take the stage to discuss socially responsible AI development. Following this, Jeong Song, Dean of the AI Graduate School at KAIST, will speak on ‘AI Technology Trends and the Future.’
Session 1 will focus on ‘Mobility,’ the sector expected to undergo the most change in the future city, featuring expert lectures including PerceptIn CEO Xiaoshan Liu, followed by a panel discussion. Session 2 will share cases of ‘AI Transformation and Startups (AI for Everyone),’ highlighting AI Yangjae Hub and Canadian startups that promote AI technology accessible to all.
On the opening day, December 3, an ‘AI Talent Recruitment Fair’ will be held, recruiting startup talent not only for developer roles but also for UX/UI designers, data analysts, and other AI-related fields. Twenty-one domestic AI startups with promising technologies will operate recruitment booths, and university (graduate) students and job seekers interested in AI startup employment can participate. In addition to booths, there will be employment lectures, on-site interviews, and job mentoring.
On the second day, December 4, the following programs will be held: △‘AI Workshop’ for AI startup workers and related graduate students △‘Open Source Utilization Competition (presentation and awards)’ focusing on image resolution restoration △‘AI+X Forum’ to discuss new values of AI △‘Mock Investment Attraction Competition (IR Runway)’ with evaluation by current investors, and one-on-one mentoring to enhance investment attraction rates.
During the conference on December 3-4, the World Hall room will operate a technology experience zone where visitors can directly experience AI technologies and services from each company. Twenty companies affiliated with the ‘AI Yangjae Hub’ will participate, and general citizens, companies, and investors interested in AI startups can also hold meetings on site.

Hwang Bo-yeon, Director of Seoul’s Economic Policy Office, said, “Over the past four years, about 300 AI startup companies have grown with support from the ‘AI Yangjae Hub’ and have stood out on international stages such as CES. We will operate AI SEOUL 2022 as a venue for cooperation among global AI industry clusters, talent recruitment, and investment attraction to open the era of AI industry in Yangjae.”
