Haenam-gun Selected as Best County for Jeollanam-do Sports Marketing for the 4th Consecutive Time

Over 100,000 Total Visitors for Training Camps, Highest in Jeonnam Province

[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] On the 27th, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it was selected as the best county for the fourth consecutive time in the Jeollanam-do training camp attraction performance evaluation.

From September 2021 to August 2022, Haenam-gun attracted training teams of 15,000 athletes across 14 sports, totaling about 98,000 person-days, achieving the highest performance in the province.

According to the 2021-2022 Jeollanam-do Sports Marketing Evaluation, Haenam-gun was selected as the best county and secured 60 million KRW in prize money for stadium repair and facility costs.

Despite the COVID-19 situation, the county established customized quarantine guidelines for training teams and conducted thorough management of athletes, building its image as a safe training destination.

Additionally, through well-equipped sports infrastructure, operation of rehabilitation camps for training teams, and differentiated marketing services such as one-on-one marketing with athletes, Haenam-gun achieved effective sports marketing operations in preparation for the post-COVID era.

Along with this, it is expected that hosting national and provincial sports competitions and training camps in 2022 will generate about 18.5 billion KRW in direct and indirect economic ripple effects for local businesses and accommodations.

Myeong Hyun-gwan, the mayor of Haenam-gun, said, “Despite the difficulties of COVID-19, we were able to continue sports marketing by pooling various wisdom,” and added, “We plan to continuously expand sports event hosting, training camp attraction, and year-round sports marketing this year in line with the changing surrounding circumstances such as the full-scale resumption of sports competitions.”
