Gurye-gun and Korea Habitat Gift New Homes to Low-Income Families
Providing Healthy and Safe Living Spaces for Basic Livelihood Security Households
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun and Habitat for Humanity Korea announced that on the morning of the 26th, they held the 'Gurye-gun Low-Income Household Housing Support Plaque Ceremony' at Hwangjeon Village, Masan-myeon, Gurye-gun.
At the plaque ceremony, Kim Sun-ho, Governor of Gurye-gun, Kim Jeong-ho, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Chungnam Sejong Chapter, Professor Kim Yong-cheol of Habitat Wooden Architecture School, and An Geun-young, representative of the 56th class trainees, attended.
Through this housing support, a basic livelihood security household that was at risk of collapse due to an old earthen wooden house was provided with a healthy and safe living space.
The house supported this time through Habitat for Humanity Korea is a modular compact mobility home (19㎡) built by the architectural talent donation of trainees from the Habitat Wooden Architecture School, equipped with a bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom, and a ramp was additionally installed considering the mobility convenience of the beneficiary with leg difficulties.
Also, local company Jinain Architecture (CEO Choi Ki-young) greatly helped the project by providing free basic design, an essential condition for project promotion, through talent donation.
Meanwhile, Habitat for Humanity Korea is an international non-profit organization that started in the United States in 1976 with the vision of "a world where everyone has a decent home," building houses and villages for people suffering from poor housing conditions and continuously supporting shelter with the goal of community change and healthy communities.
Governor Kim Sun-ho said, "I sincerely thank the Habitat for Humanity officials who provided stable housing for Gurye residents living in poor housing conditions, as well as local organizations that donated their talents despite their busy schedules, and we will continue to provide ongoing support for warm, comfortable, and safe homes for all residents."
