[Concall] Samsung Electronics "Q3 Inventory Increase Mainly Occurred in Memory"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Samsung Electronics stated in a conference call held after the earnings announcement on the 27th, "Total inventory in the third quarter increased by 5.2 trillion KRW compared to the previous quarter, reaching 57.3 trillion KRW," adding, "this inventory increase mainly occurred while operating the memory business.
Samsung Electronics acknowledged market concerns regarding the increase in semiconductor inventory but noted that it is difficult to judge the current inventory level solely by past standards.
Samsung Electronics explained, "(Semiconductor) process difficulty is increasing, chip sizes are getting larger, and many constraints are expected in production growth, so the appropriate inventory standard to smoothly respond to market demand has become higher than in the past."
