Encloud24 Signs Cloud Transition Project Contract with KT Cloud for Jeju Island
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Cloud service specialist Ncloud24 (Weldata System) announced on the 26th that it has signed a contract with KT Cloud for the '2022 Cloud Computing Service Utilization Model Application Pilot Project for Local Governments.'
Through this contract, Ncloud24 will work with KT Cloud to carry out the cloud migration project for 105 information systems across 8 public offices in the Jeju region, including Jeju Provincial Government, Jeju City, Seogwipo City, Jeju Development Corporation, Jeju Tourism Organization, and Energy Corporation. Additionally, cloud management service companies such as Daesin Information & Communication, Metanet Digital, Megazone Cloud, and Jinwoo & S will also participate in the project.
Considering Jeju's regional characteristics with a high possibility of natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes, it appears that KT Cloud, which boasts the highest level of IDC/CDC safety in Korea, was selected. KT Cloud uses redundant power supply devices that provide backup power and batteries with almost no risk of fire.
KT Cloud recently replaced the battery components, known as the cause of the fire at the Pangyo Data Center, with expensive lithium iron phosphate and lead-acid batteries instead of lithium-ion batteries, making the possibility of fire caused by batteries almost nonexistent. Furthermore, stable power supply is ensured through the dualization of KEPCO substations and high-voltage line redundancy.
