Korea University Medical Center Provides Medical Support to African Burundi Delegation

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] Korea University Medical Center announced on the 26th that it provided medical support to local Burundian people from Africa who were visiting Korea for missionary activities on the 25th.
The medical support team from Korea University Medical Center, including Park Geon-woo, Head of the Social Contribution Project Headquarters (Professor of Neurology at Anam Hospital), and Hong Soon-cheol, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Anam Hospital, visited a church in Seoul where the Burundian delegation was staying to check on their health.
During the activities conducted for 26 local people, various examinations such as electrocardiograms for health status checks, health consultations, and dental treatments were provided. One Burundian mother was diagnosed with the need for emergency surgery through an ultrasound examination by Professor Hong Soon-cheol and was transferred to a nearby hospital through the support team.

Head Park said, "After hearing about the circumstances of the Burundian locals who usually cannot access medical services due to environmental and economic constraints, I came immediately," adding, "We will continue to strive to visit marginalized and shadowed areas to provide more help."
