Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, gave a special lecture to Changwon University students on the topic of "Politics and Science and Technology."

Hosted by Professor Heo Hye-yeon, the lecture was attended by about 300 students enrolled in the "Challenge and Creation" liberal arts course. It was conducted in a conversational format answering students' questions, moving away from the traditional rigid lecture style.
Mayor Hong communicated sincerely with the students about his experiences gained over decades of public service and shared the administrative direction and future vision of Changwon Special City, gaining empathy and positive responses.
In particular, Mayor Hong proposed ways to revitalize Changwon's economy by advancing key local industries such as nuclear power, defense, and hydrogen in line with the massive changes brought by the 4th Industrial Revolution, and to upgrade abundant tourism resources including marine attractions to make the city more appealing.
Mayor Hong emphasized, "A city without youth has no future," and stated, "We will create high-quality jobs preferred by young people to build a vibrant Changwon."

A student who attended the lecture said, "It was a time to glimpse both the steadfast administrative philosophy and the humble, human side of the head of Changwon City. I hope that through interest and support for youth policies, a Changwon that young people expect will be created."
