[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] Philip Goldberg, the U.S. Ambassador to Korea, stated that "the current status of the ROK-U.S. alliance is stronger than ever."
Ambassador Goldberg made this remark during his keynote speech at the "ROK-U.S. Alliance International Academic Conference," co-hosted by the ROK-U.S. Alliance Foundation and the Korean Veterans Association of the United States Forces Korea, held on the afternoon of the 25th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. He also highlighted the roadmap for ROK-U.S. relations shared during the summit between President Joe Biden and President Yoon Suk-yeol during Biden's visit to Korea last May, stating, "The ROK-U.S. alliance is not merely about security issues but is the foundation of the bilateral relationship and has created one of the best historical models." He assessed that "the two countries can collaborate more not only in security but also in areas such as pandemics and climate change."
