'Decision to Leave' Wins 6 Awards Including Best Film at Yeongpyeong Awards
'Hunt' Wins 3 Awards Including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress
Director Park Chan-wook's "Decision to Leave" won the Best Film Award at this year's Yeongpyeong Awards.
The Korean Association of Film Critics announced the winners of the 42nd Yeongpyeong Awards on the 24th. "Decision to Leave" took home six awards including Best Film (Moho Film), Best Director (Park Chan-wook), Best Actress (Tang Wei), Best Screenplay (Park Chan-wook & Jung Seo-kyung), Best Cinematography (Kim Ji-yong), and Best Music (Jo Young-wook). "Hunt" won three awards including Best Actor (Jung Woo-sung), Best Supporting Actress (Jeon Hye-jin), and Best New Director (Lee Jung-jae).
The Best New Actress Award went to Lee Ji-eun (IU) for "Broker" and Son Seok-gu for "The Outlaws 2." The Technical Award was given to supervisors Jung Sung-jin and Jung Cheol-min, who were responsible for the visual effects (VFX) of "Hansan: Rising Dragon." The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) Korea Branch Award was presented to director Shin Yeon-sik's "Cassiopeia" (domestic category), director Kogonada's "After Yang," and director Jean-St?phane Sauvaire's "Blue Lake" (both in the international category). The Independent Film Support Award was given to directors Kim Dong-ryeong and Park Kyung-tae for "Pregnant Tree and Goblin" (feature film category) and director Lee Il-ha for "More" (documentary category). The New Critic Award was awarded to Kim Hyun-seung.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to actor Ahn Sung-ki. The association stated, "He debuted in 1957 at the age of just five with director Kim Ki-young's 'Twilight Train' and has appeared in over 130 Korean films to date," introducing him as "an undeniable living witness to the history of Korean cinema as an actor."

The awards ceremony will be held on the 23rd of next month at 5 p.m. at the KBIZ Hall of the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
