Yeonggwang-gun to Intensify Crackdown on Illegal Distribution of 'Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificates' Starting from the 24th
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun has launched a focused crackdown from the 24th of this month to the 4th of next month to prevent the illegal distribution of Yeonggwang Sarang Gift Certificates and establish a sound distribution order.
According to the county on the 21st, this crackdown will be conducted through on-site inspections by a joint crackdown team after pre-verifying resident reports from the illegal distribution reporting center and monitoring data from the integrated gift certificate management system's payment merchants.
The main targets of the crackdown include acts such as receiving or exchanging gift certificates without providing goods or services, receiving or exchanging gift certificates through transactions exceeding actual sales amounts, operating businesses restricted from registration as merchants, refusing gift certificate payments, and treating gift certificate payments less favorably compared to other payment methods.
In particular, if illegal distribution activities are detected as a result of the crackdown, merchant registration will be canceled and fines of up to 20 million KRW will be imposed according to relevant laws. In cases where serious illegal distribution is suspected, police investigations will be requested.
A county official stated, “We will do our best to manage merchants to establish a sound distribution order through continuous crackdowns on illegal distribution of Yeonggwang Sarang Gift Certificates and to revitalize the Yeonggwang Sarang Gift Certificates.”
