This is a measure to revitalize the local commercial district. Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon attended the event and promised to do his best to revitalize the local commercial district.
On the same day, at the lawn plaza of the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government building located in Paldal-gu, Suwon, the Nonghyup Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters hosted the 'Direct Agricultural Products Market,' and the flea market (flea market) 'Napulnapul' was hosted by the online cafe 'Suwon Mom Moyora,' which has the largest number of members (330,000) in the Suwon area.
This event was one of the priority utilization plans for the old government building announced by Gyeonggi Province on the 5th. The province presented a plan to attract influential private events to revitalize the local economy and activate the local commercial district.
Governor Kim said at the event, "Since the Gyeonggi Provincial Government moved, the local commercial district has been struggling a lot, so I thought efforts to revitalize it were necessary," adding, "So I wanted to come once. (After coming and seeing) the direct agricultural products market seems good for both residents and farmers."
Afterward, Governor Kim toured the event site and personally purchased rice cakes, Shine Muscat grapes, cookies, pumpkin leaves, sweet potatoes, and more.
At the event, 28 teams of farms from the Gyeonggi area and 32 teams of local small business owners and female entrepreneurs participated, selling fresh agricultural products they directly cultivated, homemade processed foods, and handcrafted products.
Also, 128 teams of secondhand goods sellers recruited through the 'Suwon Mom Moyora' cafe participated, selling various secondhand items such as clothing, toys, books, and other baby products as well as adult clothing.
The province plans to actively attract major events hosted by the province and public institutions, as well as large-scale private events, to the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government building in the future.
Along with this, the province will rent out major facilities of the old government building to residents through the Gyeonggi Shared Service and will also maintain walking trails and other amenities.
