Gyeongsang National University Museum Hosts Multicultural Family Exchange Festival
Understanding Korean History and Culture ... Contributing to Stable Early Settlement
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Gyeongsang National University Museum will hold a 'Multicultural Family Exchange Festival' at 2 p.m. on the 29th in the main auditorium on the 2nd floor of the GNU Convention Center at the Gajwa Campus.
This event was organized to help multicultural families understand Korean history and culture, enabling them to settle stably and early, and to contribute to growing together with the local community as a national flagship university.
About 200 local residents, including multicultural families from the Gyeongnam region, are expected to participate in the event. Multicultural families, faculty, students, and local residents who wish to participate can apply through the Gyeongsang National University Museum website or visit in person by the 24th. There is no participation fee.
The event consists of two parts: a special lecture in the first part and performances in the second part. In the first part, Professor Han Sang-deok of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Gyeongsang National University will give a special lecture titled 'Understanding Korean Culture for Multicultural Families.' In the second part, performances will include electronic violin, traditional South American folk performances, African traditional performances, and music.

Director Cha Young-gil of the museum said, “Multicultural families are already members of our community society. If multicultural families better understand Korean history and culture, it will greatly help them settle stably.” He added, “Gyeongsang National University, as a national flagship university, has prepared this festival to contribute to the stable settlement of multicultural families.”
